NEW CAREER TECHNICAL EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES DESIGN WELL UNDER WAY
Groundbreaking to be held Friday, December 16th 10:30 am IVC Main Campus, NW Parking Lot H
Career Technical Education Facilities Site Plan and Elevation
IMPERIAL, CA—The design efforts for the Imperial Valley College's (IVC) New Career Technical Education Facilities are well underway. The community's support of Measure "J" has helped bring this project to a reality.
Measure "J" is an $80 million bond authorization that was approved by voters in November 2010 to improve education and expand career opportunities.
The project includes the construction of a new Career Technical Education Building and modernization of existing 1100, 1200, and 1300 buildings. The project has been submitted to the Division of State Architect (DSA) for review and construction is scheduled to start in Spring 2012.
The new Career Technical Education Building will house the expanded curriculum covering Administration of Justice * Building Construction * Correctional Science * Electrical Wiring * Electronics * Emergency Medical Technology * Fire Technology * Peace Officer Standards Training * Solar Energy * Welding Technology *.
IVC's construction team has commenced a series of subcontractor outreach meetings to encourage local participation on this project. Additional subcontractor outreach events will be held in December at the Pioneer Museum . The next event will take place on:
