Library Cards: An IVC identification card is used as a library card. Students may get one at no charge in the College Center. Non-students who wish to use the Library are charged a minimal fee for the card. Further Information Here
Circulation Period: Library materials can be checked out for four weeks and renewals are allowed, as long as no one else has requested the material. Pamphlet material can be checked out for one week. Library fines are assessed for overdue material. The borrower is responsible for any damage or loss of materials checked out in their name.
Placing a hold: You may place a hold on a book that is checked out. When the book is returned, you will be notified. The book will be kept at the Circulation Desk under your name. If you do not pick it up in a reasonable amount of time, the book will be placed back on the shelf.
Book Returns: There are three book returns outside the Library. One is at the front entrance of campus at the walkway to the Administration Building, the other is in the north parking lot near the Human Resources Building, and the third is outside the entrance to the Library. In addition, there is a book return inside the building in the Circulation Desk as you enter the building. The three outside returns are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for return of material. They are emptied daily. If you owe money, you will be asked to pay the next time you check out material.
Overdue Books and Fines: A fine of ten cents per day per book or pamphlet up to the cost of the material will be charged for every day that it is late. Any money you owe could keep you from being allowed to register for subsequent semesters or receive transcripts until the obligation is cleared with the Library. Further Information Here
Lost and Damaged Materials: If a book or other material is lost or damaged, you will be charged the price of the material plus a $10 fee. A refund, less the $10, will be given if you return the material within one year of payment. Further Information Here
