On behalf of Imperial Valley College Parking Control Department, I would like to welcome all new and returning faculty, staff, and students to Imperial Valley College. Your safety while at Imperial Valley College is the primary concern of the Parking Control Department.

The safety and well being of our students, faculty, staff and visitors is our paramount priority. As the Director of Campus Safety and Security, my staff and I are committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment for our faculty and staff in order to prepare our students for academic success. As members of the IVC academic community, our security officers and staff serve the college community with courtesy, pride, dependability and professionalism.

Our department offers many services which include crime and accident prevention, lost and found property control, emergency/disaster management, parking enforcement, security escort services, and building security.

Currently, our security officers and staff are updating their training as first responders for medical emergencies; as well as obtaining other certifications to make certain that we maintain a safe and healthy environment for the IVC community. Furthermore, to provide meaningful and effective services, the Parking Control Department is committed to building collaborative partnerships with the campus community and surrounding neighborhood organizations, as well as local, state and federal agencies for the betterment of our entire community.

Additionally, the Parking Control Department is also in the process of updating and implementing a Critical Incident Response Plan for the main campus as well as the extended campuses. Those plans will be available soon to all students and employees as we want everyone to be prepared in the event an incident should arise. A college-wide “All-Hazards” Emergency Response Plan has also been formulated and is in place. Again, we are dedicated to providing safety and security to all and look forward to working with you to make your experience at Imperial Valley College both positive and rewarding.

Again, our goal is to provide a safe campus environment that fosters education and creativity. This web site has been designed to provide you with greater access to our department resources and services. We encourage you to explore our web site for useful crime prevention and awareness information that can help keep the campus community a safe and secure learning environment.

Be Alert, Be Ready, Be Safe.

Tim T. Nakamura, M.A.

Director of Campus Safety and Security
