Library Card – IVC I.D. |
Obtaining an IVC I.D. Card
- In order for a patron to check out library material, a valid Imperial Valley College I.D. Card must be obtained. This will serve as their Spencer Library Media Center library card.
- IVC I.D. Cards are available in the Casbah room of the College Center (Building 600). Hours for I.D. making are announced through Student Services at the beginning of each week (Schedule subject to change without notice).
- A photo I.D. and proof of enrollment will be required in order to obtain a Student IVC I.D. Card. The first card as an IVC Student is free. Replacements cards, with change of photo, cost $5.00 each, unless you bring in your old card and it is determined that it is unusable through no fault of the user.
- Faculty and Staff cards are free and are made by appointment only by calling ext. 455.
- Non-student community members may purchase an IVC ID Card for $5.00 a semester. Replacement cards are $5.00 each.

Guidelines
- All IVC Students, faculty/staff members, and residents of the Imperial Valley College district may use the facilities and materials of the Spencer Library. Your IVC I.D. Card is your library card, and you must have it with you each time you check out library materials.
- In the event the IVC I.D. Card printer is out of service, Spencer Library Media Center staff will Create User (Refer to Create User) with proper identification allowing patron to check out material.
- If the patron does not have his/her IVC I.D. Card with them, the circulation desk attendant should offer to hold the material for one week until they can return with their library card.
- If the patron does not have his/her IVC I.D. Card with them, and the circulation attendant “knows” the patron, the patron’s I.D. can be manually keyed and material will be allowed to be checked out.
- IVC does not honor library cards from other libraries.
