Institutional Learning Outcomes
The SLO Mission Statement: Students who successfully complete degree and certificate programs at IVC will demonstrate competency in these five areas: communication skills, critical thinking skills, personal responsibility, information literacy, and global awareness.
Imperial Valley College’s students, faculty, staff, and administrators will work toward and assess student learning outcomes in the following areas:
- Communication Skills
- Critical Thinking Skills
- Personal Responsibility
- Information Literacy
- Global Awareness
While we believe "Strive for Five: Defining ILOs" to be a living document, this form may be helpful in further defining what types of activities fit under each of the five Institutional Learning Outcomes: Strive for Five ILOs. This is not a complete list, but a list that is ever expanding. If you would like to submit any new definitions for consideration by the SLO Committee, please email your ideas to the SLO Coordinator.
