The Mission of the Department of Public Safety

"The Mission of the Department of Public Safety is to provide a rounded educational experience with a concentration in the domains of the Public Safety community.  The Department of Public Safety emphasizes a strong knowledges and comprehension base within one of the fields  of study: 

 Administration of Justice

 Correctional Sciences

 Reserve Peace Officer

 Fire Technology

Paramedic

Emergency Medical Technician

The Department of Public Safety also prepares students to continue their education through transfer to a higher degree program or certification training programs.  These trainings programs meet or exceed the certification requirements for the Sate of California in the areas of Law Enforcement Training through the California Commission on Peace Officer Training, and Paramedic/EMT Training.  The Department of Public Safety also provides testing that ensures that each student graduates with the demonstrated Character, Knowledge, Problem Solving Abilities, Human Relations, Communication Skills and Physical Skills necessary to meet the professional standards required of a Public Safety Professional."
