LVN to RN at Imperial Valley College
Announcement:
LVNs applying to the IVC RN Program will be required to take the TEAS (Test for Essential Academic Skills) entrance exam effective 2011-2012. Study materials are obtained from the ATI website www.atitesting.com
IVC offers options (PDF) for LVNs to obtain their RN: 1) Associate Degree Option; 2) 30-Unit Option, and 3) Generic Program. LVNs must complete the admission criteria before applying. If applying for the degree option, LVNs must complete the admission criteria and the College Transition Course (NURS 204). LVNs applying for 30-Unit must include the disclaimer form. The transition course is not required for 30-Unit Option but is strongly recommended. LVNs can apply for any option at anytime throughout the year. Prioritization (PDF) in the program is determined by a Progression Committee after completion of the Transition Course. LVNs are notified of results once approved for acceptance.
Minimum GPA of 2.5 in prerequisite course work is required to apply. Official transcripts from all institutions attended including where LVN was obtained are required. A current CA LVN license with IV Certification is also required along with a current BLS Healthcare Provider card.

d) Copy of current LVN license and BLS HCP
e) Disclaimer Form (PDF) (only for 30-Unit Option)
f) Counselor’s major sheet
g) Student Questionnaire (DOC)
Once accepted, a background check and drug screen (PDF) along with a physical exam (PDF) and TB screening will be required.
