Imperial Valley College

Associated Students Government (ASG)

The student Activities/Governance Program is an essential and fundamental part of the college’s educational mission. As the center of college community life, it serves as a laboratory of citizenship, training students in social responsibility and for leadership in our democracy. Through its various committees and staff, it provides a cultural, social and recreational program aiming to make free-time activity a cooperative factor with study in education.

In all its processes it encourages self-directed activity, giving maximum opportunity for self-realization and for growth in individual social competency and group effectiveness. Its goal is the development of the total person as well as stimulating the intellect. Student Activities/Governance Program serves as a unifying force in the life of the college, cultivating enduring regard for and loyalty of the college.

Welcome Message from the IVC ASG President

I would first like to welcome all new and returning students to IVC. Next, I would like to welcome back the college’s staff and faculty members. We are going through hard times not only here at IVC, but throughout California. It is going to be harder to complete our educational goals in this budget crisis. It is more important now, than ever, to stay in your classes, and try your best to get good grades. Your education should always come first. If you can maintain your grades, then I strongly encourage you to join some of our clubs on campus or the Associated Student Government. We are always looking for new ideas, and ways to make IVC a better place for everyone. Being active is a really great way to become informed on what is going on throughout campus. If you have any questions and/or concerns, please feel free to stop by the Student Affairs Office right by the bookstore.

I wish you all the best in meeting your goals for this 2011-2012 school year!

Sincerely your ASG President,

Daniel Bermudez, ASG President 2011-2012
