What is the Help Desk?
The Help Desk is a web database program that is maintained by the Information Technology Department at Imperial Valley College. The purpose of using the Help Desk is to assist faculty and staff in providing technical support campus wide.

How does the technical support Help Desk work?
Faculty and staff use the Help Desk to log in and submit technology related requests on a specific work order they need help in such as E-mail, Internet, Banner, Passwords, Viruses, do software upgrades or hardware, phone issues, and wireless issues.  After you submit a ticket on the Help Desk, a technician, programmer, or administrator gets the job request assigned according to work order submitted.

Who do I contact to get trained on the IVC Help Desk program?
Larry Valenzuela, is the Technology Center Technician that provides campus wide trainings for Imperial Valley College employees in the use of the Help Desk. Faculty or staff can schedule individual appointments by contacting him at (760) 355-6189. The Technology Center calendar is available online for faculty and staff to check on upcoming workshops that will be offered throughout the school year.

How do faculty and staff log into the IVC support Help Desk?
If faculty or staff need assistance to a technical problem, or need technical support on the extended campuses in Calexico, El Centro, and Brawley, please submit a ticket on the Help Desk (click here ).

By faculty and staff submitting their work requests through the Help Desk, will help information systems document, prioritize, keep track of future reference cases, and get statistical information to budget for our own operating costs each fiscal year in maintaining the support we provide here at Imperial Valley College.
