CalWORKs Assessment Program
The CalWORKs Assessment Program has been in operation since 1988, under a contract with Imperial Valley College and the Department of Social Services. It is funded by the Imperial County CalWORKs Program and the contract is renewed on a yearly basis. The program provides CalWORKs Participants with the resources to acquire the knowledge and understanding of their abilities, life skills, and interests which are the primary ingredients for obtaining guidance and direction. These resources enable them to move from unemployment to gainful employment, thus enjoying a better income and a better way of life.
CalWORKs ASSESSMENT PROGRAM
The CalWORKs Assessment Program is committed in providing CalWORKs participants with quality vocational assessment and counseling services to enable them to find the potential within themselves to achieve success in the workforce.
The Vocational Assessment Counselors provide participants with a thorough and comprehensive vocational assessment evaluation and assists them in finding accurate vocational training/placement and employment based on their own unique competencies and abilities.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Assessment Services are provided to all CalWORKs participants referred to the program by the Department of Social Services. The services are only provided to CalWORKs participants.
