ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE
The ESL Department serves non-natives of English attending Imperial Valley College. Credit and noncredit classes are also offered on the main campus and extended campuses in El Centro and Calexico. The credit program includes five levels of grammar and composition, oral competence, vocabulary, and reading. On completion of the credit program, students may enroll in mainstream courses at the college. The department emphasizes learning and instruction in an English-only environment. Instruction is provided by twelve full-time instructors and a team of part-time instructors.
The ESL Department is located in the second floor of the 2700 building.
