Student Right-To-Know Disclosure In compliance with the Student Right-to-Know and Campus Security Act of 1990, it is the policy of the Imperial Valley College to make available its completion and transfer rates to all current and prospective students.
Beginning in 2001, all certificate, degree, and transfer-seeking first-time, full-time students were tracked and the completion and transfer rates of this group are listed below. This is a very narrowly defined group and does not reflect all transfer students. These rates do not represent the success rates of the entire student population at IVC, nor do they account for all student outcomes occurring during and after this tracking period.
Imperial Valley College enrolls a higher percentage of local high school graduates than any other community college in California.For the Fall of 2008 approximately 1265 local high school students that graduated enrolled at Imperial Valley College. This accounts for 52.8 % of the total high school graduates.
Based on data available, it is estimated that 7.81 %of students enrolled at IVC either have or will achieve an AA degree and that3.4% of students enrolled at IVC will achieve a BA/BS from a University of California or California State University institution.
Previous graduate information shows that 60% of students that transferred to a University of California or California State University institution to complete their education are assumed to have graduated with their Bachelor’s Degree.

A student that attends IVC full time can obtain an Associate’s degree in two years. Time varies for certificate programs and students transfer out for Bachelor/Graduate degrees.
IVC offers a full array of financial aid programs – grants, work study,scholarships, and fee waivers (we do not participate in the federal loan programs). These programs are available to both full and part time students who are seeking a degree or certificate. We have financial aid available to help with tuition, fees, books and supplies, food, housing,transportation, and childcare.
Every year Imperial Valley College awards over $12 million dollars to students, all in the form of grants or scholarships that do not have to be paid back. An additional $2.6 million in fee waivers assists students with tuition costs. Each year, over 80% of the students attending IVC receive some type of financial assistance in the form of grants, scholarships, work study, fee waivers or book vouchers. Athletics does not offer any other scholarships, grants, or other form of assistance.
