General Matriculation Procedures

Matriculation Rights and Responsibilities 

 

Matriculation is a process which assists you in choosing, planning, and achieving your educational and career goals. It is IVC’s way of supporting your right to succeed in college. Matriculation is a partnership between you and Imperial Valley College.

  IVC agrees to: 

∙ Help students to succeed in their college careers.

∙ Assist students in making decisions based on accurate information

∙Offer services and resources for proper course selection

Provide an opportunity to develop a Student Education Plan (SEP).

 You agree to: 

Select an educational goal or major by the semester following the completion of 15 semester units.

∙ Register for classes.

∙ Attend class regularly.

∙ Meet with a counselor to develop a Student Education Plan (SEP).

∙ Request additional services when needed.

∙ Complete your educational goal.

 Prior to registration, all non-exempt students must complete the following steps that apply: 

∙  Complete on-line application for admission (see WEBSTAR)

∙ Send in all transcripts from H.S. and other colleges.

∙ Attend an orientation and take placement tests.

∙ Meet with a counselor for proper selection of courses.
