Disabled Parking:

Student who have a current California disabled placard are not required to pay for a semester parking permit.

All vehicles utilizing disabled parking must have a state issued identifcation placard, i.e. Department of Motor Vehicles issued placard or disabled license plate.  Rules regarding parking in disabled zones are governed by the California Vehicle Code (Sections 22507.8 and 21458).

Only vehicles displaying official disabled parking authorization may park in disabled parking spaces.

Be advised that it is illegal to:

• Lend the placard to another.
• Forge a licensed medical professional's signature
• Use someone else's placard
• Possess or display a counterfeit placard
• Provide false information to obtain a placard
• Alter a placard or placard identification card

According to the Calfornia Vehicle Code:

PLACARD OR PLATES:  EVIDENCE OF ISSUANCE; MISUSE:

22511.56(a) A person using a distinguishing placard issued under Section 22511.55 or 22511.59, or a special license plate issued under Section 5007, for parking as permitted by Section 22511.5 shall, upon request of a peace officer or person authoriez to enforce parking laws, ordinance, or regulations, present identification and evidence of the issuance of that placard or plate to that person, or that vehicle if the plate was issued pursuant to paragraph (3) of subdivision (a) of Section 5007.

(b) Failure to present th requested identification and evidence of the issuance of that placard or plate shall be a rebuttable presumption that the placard or plate is being misused and that the asssocited vehicle has been parked in violation 3 of Section 22507.8, or has exercised a disabled person's parking privilege pursuant to Section 22511.5.

(c) In addition to any other applicable penalty for the misuse of a special license placard, the officer or parking enforcement person amy confiscate a placard being used for parking purposes that benefit to a person other than the person to whom the placard was issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.  A placard lawfully used by a person transporting a disabled person pursuant to subdivision (b) of Section 44614 may not be confiscated.

(d) In addition to any other applicable penalty for the misuse of a special license plate issed under Section 5007, a peace officer may confiscate the plate being used for parking purposes that benefit a person other than the person to whom the plate was issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.

(e) After verification with the Department of Motor Vehicles tha thte user of the placard or plate is not the registered ownder of the placard or plate, the appropriate agency that confiscated the placard or plate shall notify the department of the placard or plate number and the department shall cancel the placard or plate.  A placard or palte cancelled by the department pursuant to this subdivistion may be destroyed by the agency that confiscated the placard or plate.

*Misuse of a disabled parking permit or parking stall may result in a minimum fine of $255.00*

Semester/Session Permits 

The price for the fall or spring permit is $20.00 for the first permit and $15.00 for each additional vehicle*

The price for the summer or winter permit is $10.00 for the first permit and $7.00 for each addition vehicle*

Students must fill out the vehicle registation form at the Parking Control Office on Main Campus.

The vehicle registration form must be filled out in its entirety every semester.

*In order to qualify for an addition permit, both permits must be registered to the same student.  Offer does not apply to household.*
